The PSNCB offers a one-time, six month extension to certified nurses whose certifications have been expired for 6 months or less. A $350 reinstatement fee, in addition to the final deadline application fee, will be processed for those applicants who have been granted extensions. To request an extension, please send an email to the PSNCB requesting an extension and dictating the extenuating circumstances that constitute an extension being granted. If an extension is granted and the nurse fails to submit their recertification application by the end of the 6 month period, their certification will lapse and in order to remain certified, they must sit for the examination again. Nurses are only eligible to receive this extension one time and the PSNCB reserves the right to deny the extension if it is not deemed necessary by the PSNCB Board of Directors. Nurses who submit their recertification application 30 days prior to or after their expiration date are subject to a late fee of $100.
